Dogs at weddings 🤩

For those of you, like me, your dog is part of your family just as much as your sibling.

If you are contemplating having your dog(s) part of your wedding day, here are a number of ideas on how to incorporate them into your big day!

The first thing that is important to consider is the personality of your pet!

Do they love attention, deal well with crowds & know how to behave? If so here is a list of ideas to include them in your Cheshire wedding:

Ring bearer, Dog of honour or Mans best friend

There are no rules on if you can or can’t have your pet as part of your wedding party so why not? They can be an adorable ring bearer with a pillow on their back or tied onto their collar - get creative!

Allocate a minder for the day so your pet can be there & taken care of!

Choose someone who is close with your dog, arm them with water & plenty of treats. If you don’t have a family member or friend who can do this for you, there are plenty of services within Cheshire that offer dog minding or assistance for your wedding day.

If having your dog at your wedding for the entire day screams stress, you can take a ‘just married’ walk. A trusted family member or friend can pick up your dog & bring them to the venue so you can include your dog in your couple portraits. You’ll have the entire family together for the most amazing wedding photography.

If you’re a serious dog family you can swap the traditional bouquets, for dogs. Everyone can walk or carry their dog down the aisle (be prepared for a bit of chaos).

If you have an anxious dog, concerned about how they will behave on the wedding day or your venue doesn’t allow pets, there are numerous alternatives to still have your dog part of your wedding day.

Have a pre-wedding shoot at a location they are familiar with & you can use those pictures for your save the date or wedding invites.

Create your table numbers or place cards with images of your pets.

Add your hounds to the cake topper alongside figurines of you & your husband.

If your unsure about your pets, have them with you for your bride or groom preparations & we can try our best to get some adorable shots whilst you get ready or bring them along to your pre-wedding shoot!
