Personalise your wedding

If you want a harry potter wedding, have one! The wedding industry has expanded to cover all the crazy and unique themes you have always dreamt of. Express your personal style & things that you adore as a couple. Include things that remind you of important events or hold significant meaning in your relationship.

Have everything organised so on the day you don’t have to do a thing!

Sometimes things go wrong but someone is always there to make it right so don’t stress. This is your day, remember that you have control. Prior to the wedding day always double check that everyone involved knows the correct times. Delays with hair and makeup can set the whole day behind & create stress.

It's going to be a big day, ensure you have a solid meal to keep you going.

Invest in a pair of comfy shoes

You want to be able to dance the night away without feeling like your feet are being sawn off. Plenty of brides opt for sparkly converse or ballet flats.

Buy a fancy hanger.

The dress is such a significant part of the day and you want to be sure to have some lovely keepsake images of it.

Get dressed earlier then you planned.

Bridal dresses aren’t designed to be easy to get in and out of. When you are in the shop you have the help of a professional. Make sure you enlist a bridesmaid or family to help you & leave extra time to get comfortable. Wait for the photographer before your loved ones see you in your dress for the first time. Let them capture the natural reactions, these moments are too precious to miss.

Trust your photographer

It is completely normal to be worried & concerned your photos might not be as beautiful as you want them but it doesn’t mean you need to write an entire look book for the photographer to follow. Trust them to do their job & to do it well. You chose them as their images are beautiful & are paying them to do their job. Trust that they will!

Leave enough time for photos

Having a cruisey day is much more relaxing than a point by point wedding, stuck to a very strict and demanding time frame so leave enough time!

Approximately an hour and a half is needed for the ideal shots of a bride & her party preparations. This includes time for all the detail shots of the dress, ring, shoes & everyone getting ready. Group shots may sound like a simple thing to do however in reality this usually takes the longest. Instead of trying to co-ordinate the family on the day and have everyone yelling, identify which group shots are essential & put a bridesmaid or family member in charge. It takes approximately 10 minutes per group shot however if it is pre-organised this will save plenty of time. For the married couple portraits set aside a minimum gap of half an hour to sneak off for some extra photos of just the two of you.

Enjoy that first kiss when the pronounce you married!

It offers a great opportunity for a photo & it’s the first kiss as a married couple so embrace it.

Most importantly just breathe and take it all in.

The day will go by so fast be sure to take it all in and have fun.
